Who Is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, whose true identity remains a mystery. 2008 Satoshi published the Bitcoin whitepaper and mined the first block in January 2009. Responsible for mining over 1 million BTC, Satoshi actively contributed to Bitcoin's early development but ceased public involvement by late 2010. The smallest unit of Bitcoin, the satoshi, is named in their honor. Satoshi's anonymity and departure have cemented Bitcoin's decentralized nature, preventing any single entity from controlling its direction.
